Meet Mrs. White

Wendy White, an 11th year employee within the Troy RIII school district, can help you navigate the resources within the school library and improve the quality of your research.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Wendy White and this is my fifth year as head librarian in the Ninth Grade Center Library. The purpose of this page is to help all our library patrons, their families, and for the community to have a chance to get to know me as I hope to be serving as the school librarian for years to come. I attended high school at Silex High school and graduated valedictorian of my class in 2005. From there I went on to Westminster College in Fulton, MO (where I also played college softball) to get my degree in Education. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2008 with a double major in Education and in English. I completed my student teaching experience at Troy Buchanan High School. I enjoyed my experience so much in the Troy School district that I didn't want to leave.

I was employed by Troy Middle School in 2009 teaching 8th grade English. During my two years teaching middle school, I also earned by Masters of Arts in Teaching from Missouri Baptist University. In 2011, the opportunity arose for me to return to the high school teaching primarily sophomore English . I jumped at the chance to return to the building that I enjoyed so much during my student teaching. I taught in the high school for four more years before applying for the position of Library Media Specialist of the NinthGrade Center Library, during which time I earned my Masters in Library Science from the University of Central Missouri.

Which brings me to where I am now. I am very excited about getting the chance to impact student learning from the library by providing quality resources and instructing students about in regards to informational literacy and research strategies. I look forward to working with you all, so feel free to stop by the library any time!
